Drawn onward — A Post-mortem (Part 1)
This blog is a continuation of my Post-Portem for my game concept, Drawn Onward. (Weeks 1–12 can be found in my documents for this unit.)
Re-Cap: Drawn Onward is a Co-operative puzzle game focused on the concepts of reflections, both in the literal sense and in the sense of self-reflection, and on morality and the impacts of our actions and experiences on our beliefs and mental state.
Much of my early feedback was to remedy the lack of narrative in my game concept, and this week I spent some time trying to amend that. In particular, it was said that the design lacked detail, so I spent some time trying to add some detail and depth to the character descriptions in the game design document, as well as spending some more time on the moodboards for these characters designs.
Initially my idea was to have these characters be somewhat of a blank slate, and have a large part of the story be what the players do with these characters. I realise now that this might leave the characters being too bland and uninteresting to begin with.
